On Wednesday, the House Natural Resources Committee leaders hosted a forum to address “escalating attacks on the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) by the Trump administration and Elon Musk's DOGE.” Rep. Jared Huffman said: “I’m so distressed that Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick has bought into this scorched earth agenda driven by Elon Musk and Russ Vought and Donald Trump. Instead of defending his agency’s mission, our Secretary of Commerce is cheering on the ransacking of NOAA.”
