JoJo Siwa makes gushing tribute to Chris Hughes with tender three-word statement on stage
JoJo Siwa appears to have confirmed her relationship with reality star Chris Hughes as she took to the stage earlier this week and made a subtle nod to him
JoJo Siwa dropped a huge hint about her relationship with Chris Hughes as she shared a three-word comment. Since the 22-year-old and Chris, 32, left the Celebrity Big Brother house, rumours have been rife about their bond after they became incredibly close.
The rumours intensified when it emerged that just hours after leaving the house, JoJo had dumped her partner, Kath Ebbs, who had flown in from Australia to meet their partner. Since leaving the house, JoJo and Chris have made the most of their free time and recently headed on a luxury holiday in Mexico together, where they were pictured kissing.
But now she's back in the UK, JoJo appears to have all but confirmed that she and Chris are an item. After taking to the stage at Colours Hoxton on Tuesday, she made a sweet nod to Chris, who found fame on ITV2's Love Island.
During a cover of Bette Davis' Eyes, originally sung by Kim Carnes in 1981, she changed the lyrics to add a tribute to Chris. One lyric from the original song is: "She's got Bette Davis eyes." However, JoJo changed these to: "He's got, Chris Hughes' eyes," leaving the crowd going wild.
She told the crowd that she changed the song as it made her "happy." Speaking to the packed crowd, Dance Moms icon JoJo said: "I'll tell you this much, if it's not obvious, that ending lyric is very much true." This isn't the first time she's done this, though; she also changed the lyrics on Monday, while Chris was in attendance at the show.
But on Tuesday, he was unable to attend, but JoJo still ensured his presence would be felt. She took along the orange beanie hat that Chris had given her in the house.
She also told the crowd that she caught Chris singing one of her songs while she was sleeping. "This morning I woke up and all I heard was [sings Nobody Can Change me] he was singing," she said.
JoJo added: "So I figured today I'd bring a little bit of him while I sing this next song." As her performance drew to a close, JoJo shared a rather personal insight into her life after feeling she was one of the "most hated people in the world."
She said: "London, can I just say, as Joelle, a very serious thank you, I'm going to take my last two minutes to get a little deep with you all. I've gone through a lot of phases in my life; it's crazy what I'm about to say out loud. Since I was nine, I've gone through phases of my life where, at times, I have been one of the most hated people in the world.
"I'm not asking for sympathy, it's ok, but I've been hanging onto things that are out of my control." She went on to add: "It was really, really bad when I was 14. But, right now, personally and professionally, I feel incredibly loved. And it just, nights like this, I don't cry that often, nights like this it just it really hit me, and I can be up here and sing my songs and commit to the bit, but I just want you to know inside my heart is smiling.
"And I feel like, I just feel so grateful because in my life right now, in roms like this and at home I feel so loved and I feel so special. I wanna take a second, and remind everybody if you're doing through a hard time, I promise it gets good, just keep pushing troops."
